Add a Grade Category to the Gradebook

Grade can be organized into grade categories. For example, you may have categories for Coursework which consists of presentation, lab test, assignment. Coursework might be worth 40% of the course total regardless of how many activities are given.

Add a Grade Category to the Gradebook

Step

Select Grades from contextual navigation menu.

Open the drop-down menu on the left of the page, select Gradebook setup.

Click Add Grade Category to proceed.

Under "Parent Category", enter the preferred weightage and click Save changes to save the settings.

Click Continue to proceed.

The grade category will be created as below image. Refer to Add a Grade Item to the Gradebook to proceed with grade item.
